The Class without Walls project builds on the Symbol Literacy pedagogy making use of culture  to help children construct meaning and delve into the different areas of knowledge. The Class without Walls is an immersive learning experience, normally taking place over a 5-day period outside of the school. This facilitates the connection of the child with space and time through a direct interaction with various symbols found in cultural sites. It creates a layered approach to learning that is very fluid, leaving more room to delve into knowledge across the curriculum, where slowing down and digging deep become a priority.
